Social contribution

Enresa, in accordance with its vocation as an essential public service, actively contributes to the social and economic development of the municipalities in the zones of influence of its nuclear facilities. It also supports education and the exchange of knowledge through partnerships with public and private entities to boost training.

Co-financed projects

Enresa drives the progress of Spanish society by co-financing local development projects that contribute to the generation of alternative economies to those related to the nuclear facilities and to the generation of employment.

Enresa co-finances these municipal initiative projects with populated areas surrounding the nuclear power plants and radioactive waste centres (El Cabril), pursuant to the provisions contained in Ministerial Order IET/458/2015, of 11 March, regulating allocations to municipalities in areas surrounding nuclear facilities under the Fund to finance the activities of the General Radioactive Waste Plan (GRWP), as amended by Order TED/295/2023, of 23 March.

New accommodation to attract tourism

Due to its location and appeal, the small municipality of Toril is highly recommended if you are visiting Monfragüe National Park. It is also possible to stay at the municipal hostel, a small but functional accommodation building with four rooms, which Enresa has helped equip with the necessary facilities to get it up and running.

Ensuring municipal water supply

Romangordo, a picturesque town located at the gates of the Monfragüe National Park, now has a new water tank with a capacity of 200 cubic metres to guarantee the water supply to the Charo Cordero Martín Dependency Centre, whose location at a higher altitude than the rest of the buildings required this installation to meet its supply needs.

This initiative will provide Almaraz with a complete and modern multidisciplinary centre geared to achieving the comprehensive development of adults with disabilities, offering them the support and opportunities needed to attain the highest degree of social and labour integration possible.

More rooms to increase the spa’s possibilities

The Cofrentes spa is one of the municipality’s main economic drivers. And it will continue to be so since, from the start of 2024, it has a new building, with about 40 rooms for hotel use. This will allow the complex to remain open all year round (during the winter months, it was closed due to a lack of adequate facilities), fostering its economic activity and the preservation of jobs.

New life for ‘Las Jaras’

Jarafuel Town Council has invested almost four years of work in giving ‘Las Jaras’ campsite a complete facelift. The modernisation project is now complete, with all the camping areas renovated, both individual plots and common areas and service facilities. All this to offer a modern, welcoming and quality complex that attracts tourism to the municipality.

Travelers to the (tourism) train!

Cortes de Pallás is working on launching a tourist train that will facilitate the transportation of people to the town from the dock where the river cruises that navigate the Júcar River dock. The vehicle will also act as a tourist and economic booster f for the municipality, promoting employment directly and indirectly.

New opportunities for tourist accommodation

On the land adjacent to the municipal campsite, which was adapted in previous years, and also with the participation of Enresa, Fuente Obejuna Town Council has built six tourist studios to complement the municipality’s tourist offer. As part of the project, a building for common services, such as laundry, toilets and changing rooms, has also been built.

An open door to the metaverse

An entire town turned into an ‘escape game’? ‘Escape to love Hornachuelos’ has made this possible, providing visitors to this town with a resource that, via mobile phone, allows them to interact with different elements of the environment. The tests that must be overcome are a challenge for players, but also a fun and entertaining way to learn about local history and heritage.

New tourist complex to attract visitors

The aims of this project in Las Navas de la Concepción are to attract visitors to the municipality, expand the range of services on offer and provide accommodation throughout the year. The project includes the construction of a complex with two different services: tourist accommodation for 40 people and a bar-restaurant. The initiative also expects to create eight jobs.

The olive grove, source of development and life

After starting a project in 2017 to recover hectares destined for olive groves that had been abandoned on their lands, Navas de la Concepción tackled a second phase, completed in 2022, which has allowed the recovery of new hectares, generating full employment, and putting the mill back into operation. of oil and reactivate the Virgen de Belén cooperative.

Promoting culture in an iconic building

The Almonacid de Zorita Town Council wanted to locate its new municipal library and play centre in one of its most historic buildings – the Casón “Condes de Saceda”. To this end, with co-financing from Enresa, it has refurbished the second floor of the building to provide residents with larger, better equipped facilities with more services.

A walk along Ruta de las Fuentes

Valdeconcha has restored 12 fountains in its municipality, cleared and adapted access to them, and installed signage to guide visitors along four paths that run along both sides of the Arlés stream. The aim is to promote active tourism and encourage the care and protection of the local heritage and environment.

The municipality of Pastrana is one of the most visited in the region of La Alcarria. To encourage visitors and, at the same time, reduce traffic in the town centre, a park-and-ride facility has been built with a rest and play area for children.

A meeting point for the beating heart of the local economy. This is how Mont-Roig del Camp describes Ecoespai, a new smart and eco-friendly building that houses several municipal offices, as well as other spaces for business owners, freelancers and entrepreneurs in this town in Tarragona to join forces and promote their careers.

Improved services for tourism

Pratdip now has a tourist information point that helps improve the experience of everyone who visits the municipality. It has also opened an attractive and healthy route that runs along the “Barranc de la Dòvia” and allows visitors to take a circular walk while enjoying spectacular surroundings.

The ‘La Cala’ municipal sports complex, in L’Ametlla de Mar, has significantly improved its facilities thanks to the construction of three new indoor paddle tennis courts that offer more possibilities to users, while allowing the council to free the space occupied by the two old courts in order to build a future sports pavilion.

Interpretation center of Iberian culture

The rehabilitation and modification of spaces in the cultural house of the Tivissa City Council has made it possible to house a museum space for the interpretation and dissemination of the Iberian City of Castellet de Banyoles, one of the most important in Catalonia and the largest in the Ilercavón world, in addition of classrooms to teach various teachings, especially music.

A new way to access energy

El Ayuntamiento de Garcia ha favorecido la eficiencia energética a través de un proyecto desplegado en tres ámbitos: instalación fotovoltaica en el polideportivo municipal para alimentar diferentes equipamientos municipales y viviendas, una plataforma de gestión energética para centralizar y digitalizar la información disponible de los recursos energéticos desplegados (consumo y generación) y un gestor energético para administrar la comunidad.

Archaeology as a tourist attraction

Thanks to the project carried out by the town council, archaeological remains from the late Middle Ages (14th and 15th Centuries) found during the refurbishment of the civic centre building in Ascó can now be visited. Among other actions, it has installed a walkable glass pavement to view the ruins, a new incentive to attract visitors to the town.

The Móra la Nova School of Fine Arts and Design, the only one in the area and its surroundings, has enjoyed a coworking space since the end of 2023, created to promote the economic and territorial development of the municipality by attracting new entrepreneurs and the commitment to new economic activities capable of revitalising the area.

The rural hotel that Miraveche Town Council has launched thanks to co-financing from Enresa is now operational. It is a beautiful, fully equipped building, perfect for discovering all the secrets of the Montes Obarenes-San Zadornil nature area.

Promoting new professionals

This project has fulfilled a dual aim. On the one hand, to recover the old building occupied by the municipal slaughterhouse, located in the centre of Oña, through a comprehensive refurbishment project, and, on the other hand, to provide a modern and functional space for new companies and the self-employed to develop their activities and thus promote local economic growth.

Renovate the facilities to continue growing

The former site of the Pancorbo bowling alley now houses a beautiful wooden roof, which has enabled the municipal sports centre bar to expand its business with new cafeteria tables and a new barbecue and snack bar. In addition, the facilities provide a safe place to hold events without worrying about the weather.

Aware that motorhome tourism is becoming increasingly popular in the area, Valdegovía Town Council has built a specific parking area for this type of vehicle, which has 26 spaces and all the necessary services, such as availability of water, sanitation and electricity, to help users enjoy the area with the utmost comfort.

Entertainment and leisure next to the Sobron reservoir

Thanks to the collaboration of Enresa, the Valle de Tobalina town council launched a recreational pier in whose surroundings, in a second phase, various entertainment areas have been enabled to encourage the enjoyment of visitors, highlighting the river beach, the of the picnic area (connected by a new walkway) and a building that serves as a cafeteria, warehouse and ticket sales office.

A unique trip to nature

This project was born with the aim of highlighting and promoting the tourist attraction of Jurisdiction of San Zadornil through action in the Montes Obaranes-San Zadornil natural park. Regeneration of spaces, signage of recreational areas, recovery of fountains, improvement of roads and tracks… All of this has made it possible to protect, and bring the public closer to, a unique place.

‘Apibudia’ recovers the beekeeping tradition of Budia

Everything revolves around honey in Apibudia, the beekeeping interpretation centre that Budia Town Council has set up with the aim of recovering the area’s beekeeping tradition through a large collection of objects, an audiovisual space and a ‘connected classroom’ to provide training. The centre also offers product tastings and a store where local honey and other related items can be purchased.

Rural accommodation to boost tourism

The Pareja town council decided to remodel a property located in the historic center to turn it into a rural hostel. With the project, a disused building was recovered, a tourist attraction that did not exist was created and employment was generated, in addition to favoring the municipality’s economy, an unbeatable example of local development through co-financing.

Volunteering at Enresa

ENREacción’ is the name of Enresa’s corporate Volunteering Plan, a milestone within the framework of the Sustainability Master Plan 2023-2026, with which it intends to promote volunteering as an important activity in its management, in line with its commitment to social responsibility and its effort to have a positive impact on the communities where it is present.

The plan defines a regulated and sustainable framework over time that fosters the implementation of Enresa’s volunteer actions. The collection of toys, food and other products, as well as a solidarity auction of Christmas decorations, are the first initiatives carried out in this context, which have benefitted the Ana Bella Foundation, the Red Cross, the Madrid Cystic Fibrosis Association and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
