Enresa’s Information Centres

Enresa upholds a commitment to transparency. Each of our work centres has an information centre where everyone may learn about the materials managed, as well as the technology and experience of the company in order to carry out our activities safely.

These centres are open to the general public. Information is presented in panels, models and interactive audiovisual materials. Visitors are accompanied by expert staff who can answer any questions visitors may have.

Five Enresa Information Centres are currently open. Visits at Enresa Information Centres are free but reservations are required in order to schedule appropriately all of them. They are located in:

The main goal of this information centre, located in Hornachuelos (Córdoba) is to share information on the management of very low level, low level and intermediate level radioactive waste which is produced in Spain and managed at this facility.

There, visitors will get a detailed, first-person view of how El Cabril works, from the reception of radioactive waste to its treatment and conditioning, including the radiological control and safety programs implemented at the facility.

Located in the former nuclear power plant Vandellós I (dismantled to level II), this centre provides information on Enresa’s dismantling activities.

Implemented technologies on dismantling nuclear facilities as well as its management in relation to radioactive waste generated are shown to the visitors. There are also practical workshops for students and a guided tour through the facilities of what once was the Vandellós I nuclear power plant.

This is a temporary space located at the Santa María de Garoña nuclear power plant, created with the objective of informing society about the different phases of the dismantling of this facility, which Enresa is currently undertaking. The visit to this information centre is intended to be an open window to visitors, in line with the open-door policy implemented by Enresa at its work centres.

The visit includes a tour of different areas showing Enresa’s previous experience in decommissioning, the different phases of this project and its current situation.
